In The End
I wish to grow old in murky waters,
With you by my side;
Where we can find meaning in the currents,
and hold stars in our eyes.
Where no one can see us as we take our last —
Saying goodbye to all we knew; all that’s passed.
Smoke will fill my lungs until I become dust,
Carrying my soul in the wind; Above the dunes you loved so much.
I want to be remembered by the old birch trees,
and the nests that housed our friends and family.
In every sunset you will live on; and I will be long gone.
In the end;
I hope my songs will be carried in the waters we once swam.
Whenever you miss me and want me by your side,
Take in murky tides and let the current be your guide;
Find meaning in each grain of sand —
You will find me quickly.
I will take you away in loving hands and sing you the softest hymns,
And we both will be forgotten — as dust in the wind.
