Letting go

Holding light in her eyes, like the glow of fireflies in a moonlit sky.

Even after all these years;

After countless tear filled nights,

Every dawn she rises and chooses to fight.

Fighting for love as soft as the clouds against the heat of the sun;

For the hearts who have been hardened, left broken and undone.

Reflecting on who she’s become;

Turning inward, no longer on the run.

Remembering who she is, is more than enough

At least for someone.

No longer waiting for the one she loved,

His body was her home; But,

To be loved is to be wanted, even after being known.

This is the art of letting go.

Choosing yourself even when it means being alone.
