Carried away
I’ll watch the clouds for a little while longer,
Until I feel I can take on the day.
When you don’t find me home,
Ask the birds where they’ve carried me away.
And when they take you to where I lay,
Ask the sun where my foot steps will lead.
She will show you the path I’ve taken,
A grander trail will begin ahead.
If you make it through tall pine, thistle and weed —
There you will find me.
In the water, where we can lay together,
Until you’re ready to take on the day.
